Easy for Arvika Ligeonniere after Sir Des Champs falls in John Durkan
Arvika Ligeonniere enjoyed very little over a stroll to win the toilet Durkan Memorial Chase once Sir Des Champs fell at third fence.
The Grade One contest had already been hit exhausting once Flemenstar was taken out twenty four hours before the contest and was weakened more by the early loss of last season's Cheltenham Gold Cup competition Sir Des Champs.
Happily, chemist Russell and his mount were each quickly on their feet, but Arvika Ligeonniere was left with only outsider Rubi Light to beat.
To his credit, the competition gave it his best shot, however Ruby Walsh invariably had the favorable position aboard the 4/7 favorite, WHO jumped with boldness from time to time and stretched away between the ultimate 2 fences, ultimately rating with ease.
"I'm glad Davy's up and also the horse, however it's a chase and they are there to be jumped," Walsh told At The Races.
"I do not that means we'll be going currently, however i believe he is got uncountable pace and i would be going back [in trip] instead of more out.
"I'd imagine he may return, however Willie [Mullins, trainer] may need totally different ideas."
Owner Rich Ricci added: "It's disappointing that Sir Des Champs fell, however i am unsure something would have overwhelmed America these days.
"He's some sight once he attacks his fences like that and he simply very appears to own improved this season.
"He's jumping well and he looked an image these days, see you later might it continue.
"It would be exciting to check him return in trip. there is the Dial-A-Bet Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas and that we may verify that."
